A Rainy Yet Memorable Senior Photography Session with Karity
Karity’s senior photography session was nothing short of memorable, thanks to a unique location and some unpredictable Georgia weather. It’s been a particularly wet spring and summer here, and the evening of our shoot followed suit. By the time we were on our second outfit, a gentle sprinkle had started, and before long, we were completely rained out. But, even with the weather’s interference, we captured some truly beautiful moments.
As a senior photographer, I am always on the look out for unique settings. For this session, we explored a new location called Turkey Roost, a scenic property out in the country about an hour east of Atlanta. With its wide open fields, a peaceful pond, a winding driveway, and pastures filled with Holstein heifers, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. Even more special, Karity grew up just down the road. It was the perfect backdrop to reflect her upbringing, which was filled with time spent outdoors and riding horses.
Karity is an active and involved young woman. Her family has long been part of a local rural church community, and she was a proud member of the Color Guard at Morgan County High School in Madison, GA. While I may lack the coordination to pull off those intricate routines, Karity brought skill, energy, and school spirit to every performance.
In addition to her extracurriculars, Karity works a job at a local day care center, conveniently located right across from the elementary school she once attended. She cares for children ranging in age from one to five years old, showing a maturity and sense of responsibility well beyond her years. It’s no surprise she plans to pursue a career in education.
This fall, Karity will begin her next chapter at Young Harris College, where she’ll study to become a teacher. With her natural ability to care for and connect with children, her future students will be lucky to have her.
Even with the rain cutting our session short, it was a joy to photograph Karity’s senior portrait session and tell a small part of her story. Wishing her all the best as she moves forward with her dreams!
